More Flexibility, Fewer No-Shows: Meet PheedLoop’s New and Improved Ticket Transfer System
June 19, 2025

Transferring tickets is a common and often necessary part of event planning—whether someone can’t attend at the last minute, a colleague is taking their place, or a ticket was purchased on behalf of a guest.

But for organizers, unclaimed transfers and unclear tracking can cause major headaches. Recent surveys indicate that nearly 30% of event-goers have considered transferring access at some point. But when transfers go unclaimed or untracked, they become a major pain point, leading to no-shows, check-in confusion, and lost revenue.

That’s why PheedLoop’s latest update to our ticket transfer system is such a game changer. We’ve rebuilt the experience to give organizers greater flexibility and transparency, while making it easier for attendees to complete transfers and ensure their information is correct.

With the introduction of an optional claim step, automated reminders, and a clear audit trail, this new system helps reduce no-shows, streamline check-in, and boost confidence that every ticket is in the right hands.

Optional Claim Process: A New Level of Flexibility

PheedLoop’s latest update introduces two new settings that give event organizers more control over the ticket transfer process: Allow Ticket Transfers to be Claimed and Require Ticket Transfers to be Claimed.

With Allow Ticket Transfers to be Claimed, organizers can let recipients of transferred tickets complete their details via the attendee portal. If this setting is turned off, the transfer happens instantly and the new ticket holder is automatically added without needing to take action. On the other hand, Require Ticket Transfers to be Claimed adds an extra layer of confirmation—transfers are only finalized once the new ticket owner accepts the transfer and completes their information.

These options give organizers flexibility to choose the ticket transfer experience that best suits their event, whether that’s fast and automatic or more controlled and intentional. For attendees, it adds clarity and a smoother experience on both sides of the transfer—making it easier than ever to manage tickets confidently.

Introducing the Transfers Tab: Clearer Visibility, Stronger Tracking

To make it easier for event admins to monitor transfer activity, we’ve introduced a new “Transfers” tab inside the ticket purchases drawer. This centralized view provides a detailed history of each ticket transfer, including who initiated it, who received it, and when it was started and completed.

This kind of visibility is crucial for maintaining a reliable audit trail. It helps eliminate confusion, prevents double bookings, and ensures that organizers know exactly who holds each ticket at any given time.

Whether you're managing a small business event or a large-scale conference, being able to reference a full timeline of ticket movement gives you the clarity and control you need to operate efficiently.

Automated & Manual Reminders: No More Forgotten Transfers

We know that sometimes transfers get started... and then forgotten. To help registrants remember their registrations, we’ve introduced automated and manual email reminders as part of this system. In fact, studies have shown that automated reminders reduced no-show rates by up to 20%.

Organizers can now schedule reminder emails to go out at consistent intervals—1, 4, 7, 14, or even 21 days after a transfer is initiated. These gentle nudges help ensure recipients don’t leave tickets unclaimed or miss the event entirely.

In addition to automated reminders, admins can also send manual reminders directly from the dashboard with just a click.

This is especially helpful when managing high-value or time-sensitive tickets. By providing organizers with proactive tools to follow up, we help minimize no-shows and ensure a smoother on-site experience for everyone involved.

Improved Purchase Visibility: Easier to Manage Registrations at Scale

With our new update, pending ticket transfers can now be cancelled by either the original sender or an event admin. This adds a crucial layer of flexibility that was previously unavailable.

Whether someone entered the wrong recipient email or simply changed their mind, the ability to cancel pending transfers reduces stress and prevents accidental losses.

It also empowers organizers to take quick corrective action when needed, ensuring their attendee data remains clean and up-to-date.

In addition to these transfer-specific upgrades, we’ve also introduced enhancements to the overall ticket purchase view.

A new “Registrant” column identifies the primary contact for each purchase, which is especially useful when multiple tickets are bought together under a single registration.

Tickets are also now grouped and displayed in chronological order by registration date, making it easier for admins to find what they need quickly.

These improvements are particularly valuable for events with large registration lists, where organization and clarity can save time and reduce administrative overhead.

Conclusion

PheedLoop’s revamped ticket transfer system brings a new level of control, visibility, and efficiency to event management. With features like optional claim steps, detailed transfer tracking, automated and manual reminders, and improved purchase visibility, organizers can now manage registrations with greater confidence and ease. These updates not only help reduce no-shows and administrative burdens but also ensure a smoother, more reliable experience for both attendees and event staff.

These new tools give organizers the flexibility, control, and confidence to manage tickets at scale. Ready to see the new system in action? Log in to your dashboard or reach out to us here for a walkthrough.
